Gauntlets have been jettisoned: your beloved Vinocasters are taking part in Dry July.
In return for your generous sponsorship, we pledge to abstain from libation for the full month of July, in aid of adult cancer care in Australia.
To drink or not to drink
The only exceptions allowed are for Golden Tickets: sanctioned drinking occasions bought for us, for a minimum donation of $25.
The next recording of In Vino Veritas should be fun: we don’t know whether we will have to record the show without any alcohol, or whether a generous benefactor or two will step up to the plate and invest for cancer care and all our sanity. That rather rests in your hands!
Davey vs Jason
To make things even more fun, as each of us raise funds for the In Vino Veritas team, Dave and Jason will be competing against one another for your affections, but more importantly for your sponsorship. On our blogs, davethehappysinger.com and mycolleaguesareidiots.com, we will be caressing, cajoling and coercing you 1 to donate to our respective personal accounts. Everything each of us earns in our own right counts toward the team total, so you have an excellent opportunity to bribe Jason to publish the photos of himself as a Scout, for example.
So far, the rivalry has been flickering intensely:
Jason launched the party, listing all manner of lies altruistic intentions.
Dave responded, suggesting the Dry July Golden Tickets offered an exploitable loophole for his weak-willed comrade.
Jason hit back, suggested that ‘stating’ what is ‘true’ amounted to libation-linked libel.
Be sure to subscribe to both blogs to follow the unfolding dram-less drama!
And please sponsor us today. Help us make a difference for those living with cancer.
